For 2nd year in row, no Social Security increase

More than 58 million retirees and disabled Americans will get no increase in Social Security benefits next year, the second year in a row without a raise. Nancy Pelosi is trying to get the house to pass a proposal for $250 and if the house passes it then the senate will have to pass it before it will go into effect. if the proposal gets passed in both places then the social security recipients will get $250 each month. Many haven't had a raise since January 2009, and they won't be getting one until at least January 2012. The timing couldn't be worse for Democrats as they approach an election in which they are in danger of losing their House majority. They could possibly lose their Senate majority as well.

i will be glad if the proposal gets passed. i will not be happy if they dont raise how much they get next year. i wonder why they did not raise it this year or last year?
